Not A Society At Peace But A Society Of Plunderers

Australian Prime Minister, Mr. Tony Abbott, appears to be a handsome gentleman with a healthy smile. He described the situation in Sri Lanka is a society at peace in his recent prejudicial compliment while revealing the true colours of his ignorant view point on those who came to his feet for lamenting help. This is a rather absurd political argument or judgment on a country which has further deteriorated under the present ruling alliance even after the elimination of the insurrection and the five years that marks the conclusion of the so called bloody civil war.

What's hot in the global economy? Well, follow the money - it is usually a reliable indicator of the shifts in business trends. No, we're not talking about 'hot money' flows, which can be in one day and out the next. It's foreign movements of direct investment in physical buildings and equipment, the 'longer-term commitment' sort of investment that is the signal here. So what is it telling us about the tables that companies are putting their hard-earned cash on?

Computer: What Would Happen to Earth After A Nuclear War

By Francie Diep

You've seen what a nuclear winter looks like, as imagined by filmmakers and novelists. Now you can take a look at what scientists have to say. In a new study, a team of four U.S. atmospheric and environmental scientists modeled what would happen after a "limited, regional nuclear war." To inexpert ears, the consequences sound pretty subtle—two or three degrees of global cooling, a nine percent reduction in yearly rainfall. Still, such changes could be enough to trigger crop failures and famines. After all, these would be cooler temperatures than the Earth has seen in 1,000 years.

Sonya Arreola from the Global Fund for MSM and HIV (MSMGF) said at a pre-conference meeting around XX International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2014) in Melbourne, Australia, that “How do we use PrEP with men who have sex with men (MSM) who do not feel safe to move outside of their space without risking violence and even death?”

The Middle East: Leaders Who Could Not Lead

The contemporary Arab world is devoid of educated, intelligent and effective leadership. Those occupying the helms of power are mostly the former traditional loyalists tribal agents of the European colonial era uplifted to kingship and absolute authoritarianism to protect the vested foreign interests in the new age of the 21sy century politics. The US and West European wish to see the old order continuing under new faces of puppets regimes as is the case of Egypt under military dictator General Abdul Fatah Al Sisis replacing a popularly elected governance of President Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood. Animosity syndrome is being used by all the parties in the Middle East.

The United States Has Unfinished Business in Ukraine and Iraq

By George Friedman *
Founder and Chairman Stratfor

In recent weeks, some of the international system's unfinished business has revealed itself. We have seen that Ukraine's fate is not yet settled, and with that, neither is Russia's relationship with the European Peninsula. In Iraq we learned that the withdrawal of U.S. forces and the creation of a new Iraqi political system did not answer the question of how the three parts of Iraq can live together. Geopolitical situations rarely resolve themselves neatly or permanently.
