'Declassify all data about the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman', urges President of CPB Mujahidul Islam Selim: Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) President Mujahidul Islam Selim on August 29 urged the intelligence agencies - Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) of America, Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) of India, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan, and Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) of Bangladesh to declassify all data about the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He stated this during a discussion on the 1975 and 2004 August massacres in Dhaka city. Daily Star, August 30, 2014.

'The family of Ziaur Rahman is a killer and corrupt family', asserts Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed on August 21 said that the family of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) founder Ziaur Rahman is "a killer and corrupt family". She asserted that Rahman was behind the murder of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15, 1975, and his family was involved in the August 21, 2004, grenade attack. Government not to change its stance regarding trying of JeI for War Crimes, says Law Minister Anisul Huq: Law Minister Anisul Huq on August 10 said that the Government has decided not to change its stance regarding trying of Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) for its alleged crimes against humanity during the Liberation War of 1971. Trial of War Crimes suspect organizations was inevitable, asserts Law Minister Anisul Huq: Law Minister Anisul Huq on August 7 asserted that the trial of War Crimes suspect organizations was inevitable. The Law Ministry sources further said that the Law Ministry has prepared a draft to amend the International Crimes (Tribunal) Act -1973 so that organizations could be tried under the law for War Crimes. It has the provision for banning a convicted organization from the political arena. The draft proposal for amending the law would be placed before the Prime Minister and the cabinet for approval. The party is planning to hold a number of rallies on the outskirts of Dhaka to drum up public support in favor of their demand for a fresh election under a non-party administration, and to inspire the party leaders and activists to forge a tougher agitation in phases.
