The Bangladesh people found the period of debate closed by the Pakistan military junta in the late-March, 1971, and relevant issues were referred to arms. The period was imposed by the state of Pakistan with its treachery, betrayal, brutality, and arson and murder at mass scale, and the Bangladesh people by resorting to armed struggle heroically created a condition to make a forward march towards a new era for politics for a humane, peaceful, prosperous life, and for an equitable control over and distribution of resources. The new era for politics is long with treacherous turnings, costly compromises and backlashes; but, ultimately, it will be a people's era for politics, a part of the War for Liberation. And, the rebellion will revolve to revolution.

Indian Government has decided to send back Noor Hossain to Bangladesh soon, says Bangladesh Home Secretary Mozammel Haque Khan: Bangladesh Home Secretary Mozammel Haque Khan on December 22 said that the Indian Government has decided to send back Noor Hossain, the prime accused of the sensational seven murders in Narayanganj Dsitrict, to Bangladesh soon. He said the Ministry of External Affairs of India, in a letter said that they have asked Police to take all necessary measures to extradite Noor Hossain. In the letter, they also wanted to know the time and place of his extradition, he added. New Nation, December 29, 2014.

BNP-JeI alliance is making blueprint to kill PM Sheikh Hasina Wajed, says Health Minister Mohammad Nasim: Health Minister Mohammad Nasim on December 11 said that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) alliance is making blueprint to kill the Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina Wajed after being defeated by the grand alliance in all the sectors including politics. He said, "The BNP-JeI alliance has been defeated by the grand alliance in every sector and now they are making blueprint to kill PM Sheikh Hasina. We were shocked when we heard about the plot to kill Sheikh Hasina. The BNP-JeI alliance is plotting to kill her [Hasina] with the help of some international organizations." Siphoning of charities a way of terror financing, states US Ambassador to Bangladesh Dan W Mozena: One source of financing terrorism and extreme violence is by siphoning charities through different charitable organisations and financial institutions, US Ambassador to Bangladesh Dan W Mozena said on December 10. There is a vast network of charitable organisations thriving in the region with generous contributions from good-hearted people but there has to be a strong vigilance against any possible exploitation of money, meant for charitable cause but being abused for terrorist acts, said Mozena.. Bangladesh launches massive drive in CHT against militants operating in India's Northeast: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) launched an operation in the interior areas of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) against militants operating in India's Northeast on November 22. As a result, the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) rebels have fled from the jungles of the CHT. This came to light when India's Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, on December 4, arrested a NLFT 'commander' Amarjeet Debbarma from the Raisyabari market in the Gandacherra subdivision in Dhalai District (India).
